Ami Gokani is an architect working at the intersection of architecture, ecological systems, and interior design. A graduate of CEPT University, she brings over 12 years of experience through her work with Opolis Architects, Neelkanth Chhaya Architects, and her own independent practice.
Her practice draws on observation of vernacular architecture and regenerative systems to create spaces defined by context, ecology, and care.
GOKANI was founded in 1980 by Harshad Gokani, an alumnus of IIT Bombay, as a structural engineering consultancy. Over four decades, the firm has built a reputation for technical rigour and excellence across the industry.
Today, the practice has grown to a team of 70 and is led by Managing Principal Vatsal Gokani—an alumnus of VJTI, Mumbai, and the University of Texas at Austin. His leadership combines structural expertise with a keen interest in the broader spectrum of design, steering the firm’s evolution into a multi-disciplinary practice.
